The Grand Master Degrees of Reiki are not part of the original teachings of Master Usui. They are companion energies that have been given to us through several channels who have brought forth new symbols, and knowledge that can be used alongside the traditional Reiki symbols of Cho Ku Rei, Sei Hei Ki, Hon She Ze Sho Nen and Dai Ko Myo.
