In the cycle of life, there’s a quiet force doing some of the most important work of all — the decomposers. These often-overlooked organisms are nature’s clean-up crew, turning dead plants and animals back into the nutrients that fuel new life. Without them, forests would be buried under fallen leaves, animal remains would pile up, and essential elements would be stuck in place, unable to return to the living world. It’s tempting to hold on — to stay the same, to keep up appearances, to avoid change. But real transformation means allowing some things to break down. Like decomposers, we can learn to work with the natural cycles of our lives instead of fighting them. Letting go isn’t failure. It’s part of the process.
