Stress And Your Personality

Believe it or not, experts say your personality can actually cause stress. It is widely recognized that we are born with a predisposition to a certain personality, but of course environmental factors and family circumstances can have an effect on it too.  These factors can create habits or addictions in addition to your original traits. You will always have your “core” personality, but you can start to change other aspect of yourself, thus alleviating some stresses.

You may (or may not) be aware that "negative conversations" take place in your head (that small voice that says you are too fat, stupid, thick, slow, etc). You will very rarely hear a positive voice saying (you are, brilliant, clever, empathic, etc). The first step is to change the negative voice into the positive voice. After all, if all you can hear is negative words then they will embed into your subconscious. Much better to elect to make your subconscious hear positive words of praise.

Stress can also be caused by overload. Take too much? Do you have too much responsibility? Although there are certain responsibilities that we must carry out at home, at work, and at school, sometimes we can overdo it. List your main responsibilities and see if you have a way to shorten the list. You may be surprised how much you have taken. With a little planning, you may be able to transfer some of your responsibilities to other members of your household or colleagues. If your stress level seems out of control, be sure to talk to your partner and your boss.
